About Sara

Sara Rodriguez is a dancer, actress and singer specializing in musical theatre, classical and neo-classical ballet, and jazz and contemporary dance. She is also a dance educator and social justice advocate.

Beginning her ballet training under the guidance of Jennifer and Thomas Hanner (Ballet Austin, American Ballet Theatre) and Irina Louzganova (Bolshoi Ballet) in Southern New Jersey, Sara spent summers at Ballet West in Salt Lake City, the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah with a BFA in Ballet (Political Science minor) where she was a company member of Utah Ballet and studied under Jay Kim and Victoria Stocki-Kim (Universal Ballet), Maggie Wright Tesch (Ballet West) and Calvin Kitten (Joffrey Ballet, Ballet West).

Sara’s performance credits include: Russian demi soloist in George Balanchine’s Serenade and small swans in Swan Lake with Utah Ballet; Violente (Finger Fairy) and Little Red in The Sleeping Beauty with New York State Ballet; and various ensemble roles with Tracie Stanfield’s SynthesisDANCE, Janice Rosario and Company and other contemporary and jazz choreographers in New York and across the country. She went on to train with Broadway Arts Community under the mentorship of Chryssie Whitehead and Alexis Carra to pursue her musical theatre and acting career.

Sara is a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association.
